Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ECU Recovery ("ECU Recovery," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the website located at ecurecovery.com and the services offered through it (the "Service"). It should be read together with our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

  • Email address β€” to send your order confirmation and download link and to respond to support requests.
  • Files you upload β€” the ECU map file you submit, which we process solely to provide your requested recovery.

Information collected automatically:

  • IP address β€” used for security, rate limiting, and fraud prevention.
  • Device and usage details β€” such as device type, browser, approximate country (derived from your connection), pages viewed, and the site that referred you, collected through our own first-party analytics.

Payment information:

  • Payments are handled directly by our payment providers. We receive confirmation of payment and a transaction reference, but we do not collect or store your card or cryptocurrency wallet details.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the Service β€” process your file and deliver the result;
  • To communicate with you β€” send order confirmations, download links, and support responses;
  • To keep the Service secure β€” rate limiting, detecting abuse, and preventing fraud;
  • To process payments and maintain records required for accounting, tax, and dispute resolution;
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Cookies and Analytics

We use strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies to operate the site securely β€” for example, to keep administrators signed in. For analytics, we use our own first-party system to measure page views and understand general usage. It stores a random session identifier in your browser's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab, together with limited technical details such as the page path, referring site, device type, browser, and approximate country. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

4. Data Security

Files are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM. Results are accessible only through unique, time-limited download links. We apply access controls and other safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

5. Data Retention

  • Uploaded files β€” deleted after your recovery has been processed.
  • Recovered results β€” retained in encrypted form for a limited period (up to 30 days) so you can download them, then deleted.
  • Download links β€” expire 24 hours after they are generated; contact us if you need a new one.
  • Order records β€” retained as needed to meet accounting, tax, and legal obligations and to resolve disputes.

6. How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to operate the Service:

  • Payment providers β€” to process your payment;
  • Email provider β€” to send transactional emails such as confirmations and download links;
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers β€” that operate the servers running the Service;
  • Authorities or other parties β€” where required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or the security of the Service.

Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not sell your personal information.

7. International Data Transfers

Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where they do, we rely on those providers' safeguards for such transfers. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be processed in other jurisdictions.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at support@ecurecovery.com, and we will respond as required by applicable law. You may also ask us for a new download link or for the early deletion of your uploaded file or result.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after any change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
