ECUMaster file types

ECUMaster files differ by ECU generation, and so does what we can do with them:

  • EMU Black V3

    .emub3

    Encrypted map files from the current EMU Client. We decrypt and unlock them automatically, and you receive the unlocked map file.

  • EMU PRO

    .encrypted-emupro

    We look for the file's password. You only pay if we find it, and what you receive is the password, which opens the file in the EMU PRO software.

  • Older EMU Black V2 (.emub) and EMU Classic (.emu)

    These files aren't encrypted: on these ECUs the password is stored in the ECU itself, not in the map file. If you can't open yours, send it and we'll look at it personally. You're only charged if we can deliver something that works.

How it works

    Upload the locked file saved by EMU Client.

  2. 02

    For EMU Black V3 we remove the lock straight away and show you a report read from your unlocked file. For EMU PRO we look for the password, and you only pay if it's found.

  3. 03

    If it's right, pay $159.99 by PayPal or crypto. If we can't unlock it, you pay nothing.

  4. 04

    Download the result straight away. A copy is also sent to your email.

Why ECUMaster maps get locked

ECUMaster's software lets a tuner protect a map so it can't be opened or changed without the password. That's common when a tuner wants to keep control of the calibration or a car is sold on with its tune. When the tuner can't be reached or the password is lost, we work from the file alone: nothing to ship and no factory reset.

Proof before payment

See it worked before you pay

We unlock your file first and show you what we found in it. You decide whether to pay after that, and if we can't unlock it, you aren't charged.

Upload your fileRefund if your result doesn't work (tell us within 14 days).

  • Verification report

    A short report read from your unlocked file, with details such as the ECU model, firmware, engine and wiring. Things only the owner of the tune would recognise.
